Grit and Grind: The Brooklyn Way.

Heartbreaking loss for the Nets tonight against the Bucks. John Henson with the game winning put back after the Jabari Parker miss. Even though the Nets are 1-3 to start the season they have competed and fought hard in every game. Before the season started GM Sean Marks said this season won’t be judge by wins and losses.

If the first three games are an indication the Nets are going to be competitive this season. In the season opener they were down by 23 to the Celtics in the 4th and competed until the final buzzer. They ended up losing that game by 5, but the fight they showed in coming back set the tone that nothing will come easy against the Nets.

In the home opener against the Pacers on Friday night, Jeremy Lin led the Nets to a 103-94 victory. He finished the game with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assist. Tonight against the Bucks the game came right down to the wire and the Nets continued to show that grit and fight.

When you look at the three opponents the Nets played against to start the season there record is even more impressive. Both the Celtics and Pacers are projected to make the playoffs and attempt to challenge the Cavs. The Bucks are one of the up and coming teams in the NBA. To win a game and being involved in two close games with these teams, is a testament to Marks, Atkinson and the entire Nets organization vision and work ethic.

Marks and Atkinson has done a remarkable job of signing and recruiting high character players that buys into what there trying to build. Trevor Booker hustle and rebounding continue to stand out in a major way. Sean Kilpatrick has been spark off the bench. Lin, the Nets biggest offseason signing looks rejuvenated from playing in NY again.
